WIDE RANGE OF USAGE

The radar PGSR-3iFT ’Beagle’ is member of the PGSR Beagle family of FMCW radars, making use of all advantages specific to this excellent and well-proven radar class. Mounted on top of towers, it is watching and collecting information from the surrounding area practically from 360 degree. Numerous camera vendors are supported; new camera integration is standard procedure. Optionally camera integration/control hardware is available. The radar PGSR-3iFT ’Beagle’ is key element of sensor systems for early warning, illegal border crossing prevention and threat recognition along extensive border sections in desert or harsh environment. Improve the resilience passive cooling was deployed, no ventilator used for cooling. If several radars are operated, neighboring radars cover shadow zones of each other, to achieve full coverage of surveillance area. Radar operating channels are selectable and adjustable. Neighboring radars do not disturb each other even if radiating and receiving signals over a common area. The PGSR-3iFT ’Beagle’ radars are the highest level ruling intelligent units in the radar-camera-sensor modules hierarchy. The radar controls cameras: activates, directs, ”slews to cue” etc.

OVERVIEW

The radar is controlled from the local operator unit or remote command center. The radar’s control software ADAMS is capable of utilizing various map formats and displaying the detected targets over the map. PGSR-3iFT ’Beagle’ is the intelligent ruling unit that performs activation, coordination and control of thermal cameras, daylight cameras and other sensors. All surveillance data and user interaction events are logged and can be replayed for further analysis.

OVERVIEW

The Radar is capable to continuously detect Drone, UAV and Human targets. The Radar provides automatic detection, tracking and classification of the targets. The Radar is based on Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology enabling high MTBF. It utilizes unique AESA transmission. Low power and continuously changing frequency providing for Low Probability of detection and Interception (LPI). The Radar utilizes multiple frequency channels in a wide operating frequency range to enable eliminating potential environmental disturbances and interferences and to adapt to the operating environment.
Embedded GPS and magnetic compass units are built-in for quick deployment and settings. The Radar can be fixed or portable due to its low weight and provides easy installation in hardly accessible locations. The Radar is certified to withstand and operate in harsh environmental conditions and is suited for off-road vehicles transportation conditions.
The Radar is fully solid state, advanced digital design, providing for very high MTBF. The Radar is designed for easy integration with Command and Control Systems and can be interfaced via Ethernet 1G.

OVERVIEW

The Radar is capable to continuously (without any time gap) detect ground and low flying small aircraft and rotorcraft. The Radar provides detection, automatic tracking and classification of the targets. Both automatic and manual target classification is available to the operator. The Radar is based on Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Technology (FMCW). It utilizes low transmission power and continuously changing frequency providing for low probability of detection and interception (LPI).
The Radar utilizes 32 frequency channels in a wide operating frequency range to eliminate potential environmental disturbances and interferences and to adapt to the operating environment.

MGS3 ‘Scout’ is designed for long range security patrols, for controlling large areas and defending mobile targets, and for situations where security demands a perpetual adaptation of reconnaissance patterns. The operators of an MGS3 ’Scout’ will be able to quickly redefine the boundaries of the controlled area to instantly react to any situation that may arise.

OVERVIEW

The MGS3 ’Scout’ is a vehicle equipped with a number of surveillance modules, a PGSR-3i ‘Beagle’ radar unit, an electro optical sensor array and a Command Center.
The PGSR-3i ‘Beagle’ provides continuous observation of a large area detecting any movements, while the electro optical sensor array provides detailed picture of any detected targets for accurate identification useable in both day and night operation.
The electro optical head and the radar are mounted on retractable masts. The vehicle is assembled with a leveling system in order to stabilize and level the sensors. The high capacity battery system provides enough power for long time surveillance scenarios, but the working hours can be extended by a backup generator.The operating platform, Pro Patria Electronics’ unique Adaptive Multisensor System, presents an easy to operate user interface, offering the possibility of multi-tasking and educated decision-making to the operator. The software is capable of utilizing different map formats and displaying the detected targets over the map. The video of the cameras and the control functions are also integrated into the same system proving even automatic slew-to-cue functions. Every surveillance data and user interaction is recorded and can be replayed for further analysis.

Bordercam is a market-leading mid-range dual-sensor electro-optical surveillance system. This unique system combines an advanced high-resolution uncooled continuous zoom thermal camera with a mid-range daylight camera on an accurate pan-tilt unit.

The Bordercam offers best in its class detection and recognition without the required regular maintenance,ensuring low cost of ownership. Typical applications for this system include fixed installation, vehicle integration or man portable operation for forward observation, surveying borders, airports, refineries, power plants, and other sensitive installations.
This camera is integrated with ADAMS Sensor Management System. The Ethernet interface makes it easy to integrate into third party systems as well.

ADAMS

The Adaptive Multisensor System integrates a wide range of surveillance sensors such as radars, thermal imagers, video cameras and other devices into one complex but easily usable system.

While the radars provide continuous observation of a large area detecting any movements, the electro optical sensor arrays provide detailed picture of any targets for accurate identification.
The software layer of the ADAMS is a Windows® operating system based application, fully controllable by one operator. The software uses map based visualization which presents the geo-located sensors, detected targets and Points of Interest with easily understandable, user friendly icons. The controller software provides enhanced situational awareness by integrating several devices, such as radars and electro-optical sensors into a complex but easily usable multisensor system. The adaptive algorithms couple the different devices and provide a smooth slew to cue operation. The scalable network architecture allows sensors to distribute their data to multiple clients and provides remote control functionality. All radar detections, classified tracks, video frames and operator interactions are automatically recorded and can be easily replayed by the software.

Our ‘Beagle’ and ‘Beagele FT’ radars are capable of detecting and recognizing moving targets on or close to the ground. The high tech DSP technologies can differentiate between moving and stationary targets. Thermal Camera

Thermal cameras provide an easily understandable view of the observed area even at poor visibility conditions. These cameras are detecting the thermal radiation of the observed objects, humans and animals. Thermal cameras can be used in darkness and actually at all weather conditions, the cooled models are useable in foggy and rainy environment, while the uncooled ones are more fit to see through smoke.

Video Camera

These devices are providing the well known visual image of the observed area. The wide zoom capability enables the user to see the same image in the optical range as the thermal imager presents, but the user can see the overview of the area. CONTROL SOFTWARE


Software Architecture
The basic software of the control system is the Sensor Manager Server (SMS) that performs direct communication with the connected sensors and forwards their output data. Visualization is realized in the Sensor Control Interface (SCIN) that displays data delivered by SMS in required format and provides full sensor control functionality from this surface. The SMS can serve several SCINs and the SCIN can control a number of SMSs. So the sensors distributed over the surveillance area can not only be directly controlled by their dedicated operator unit but also can be addressed and requested by a remote control center or other remote sites.
